The USGS Active Directory recommendations team (Lighthouse Team) has released their final report that is available at http://nttac.usgs.gov/winad/Reports/AD%20Final%20Report.doc. This final report describes the recommendations and guidelines that will be utilized by the implementation team when that team is formally created. The exact time-frame for the establishment of this implementation team is not certain. Currently the major USGS Active Directory issues being investigated deal with DNS, migration of existing NT 4.0 domains, and building a reliable fail-over solution in the event that an office losses Domain Controller connectivity. If you have not already done so, please take the time to review this Lighthouse final report and provide any comments/concerns to your Regional Computer Specialist (GS-W RCS) and the USGS Lighthouse team (GS Lighthouse).
