Water Resources Discipline ITAC Activities

Hi,

I have gotten this question a few times form the ITAC PA meeting. In early discussions with Donna Scholz, Kevin suggested at the ITAC meeting that USGS employees could purchase from the DOI hardware contract for personal use systems. In talking with Dell, DOI misunderstood the employee purchase program.

Dell currently has and is relaunching a federal employee purchase program. This program will give USGS a percent discount, but it will not include the bpa pricing we currently have. In most home environments, the Optiplex GX 470 would not be the line home users would want anyway. The dimension line targets the home user. With Dells program, USGS can receive discount off that line of machine.
