(Jul2002.cyber.2, 3, & 4 action items) -- Loren doesn't really know the status of SLEDS; it's seems to have been put off to the sidelines. I know that Missouri has tested it out. But not much is being developed on SLEDS these days (to Loren's knowledge).
Sandy Williamson -- update on SLEDS: is that John Grey (OSW) initiated new activity in his April 22 email on Sediment software for SLEDS. Steve Blandard is in touch with John Grey. (Sandy will send ITAC his May 6 email involving Steve and John Grey). But OSW wanted to upgrade SLEDS to include NWIS Batach loading applications by the end of this year.
Loren says that thre are 8-10 labs using SLEDS, but they aren't all doing analysis.
Katherine - Whose championing the development effort on the SLEDS application? It's the discipline office's responsibility to carry forward the applications development in this case for the SLEDS users. We need to talk to Steve Blanchard with OSW and have Steve or one of his staff (i.e., Robert Mason) to commit to carrying SLEDS forward and seeing that it gets activated. ITAC can promote and track the development of useful applications, but a discipline office has to take the lead.
The Office of Surface Water should champion and lead the development effort of SLEDs and give four majoy things in SLEDS that's not working; along with a timeline to plan for the development. And the OSW needs to make sure that the timeline gets development.
Nelson asked Sandy to take the lead on the SLEDs issue as an agenda item
for the June ITAC meeting in Pennsylvania.
(May2003.Cyber.1) Sandy
-- will take the lead and line up necessary folks to call into the June
meeting to clarify roles of whose committing to the SLEDs application software
updates, etc.
(May2003.Cyber.2)
Katherine -- will send the letter on to Karen and cc to
ITAC.
(May2003.Cyber.2) Grady
-- will follow-up with Sherri regarding the June meeting.
Ernest will give ITAC a summarization of what our needs are and future projections with interagency; followed by a Q&A session.
Tom stated that Mary Jon and Jim Stapleton are responsible for security guidelines and policy for headquarters. Kevin Gallagher has a group on security to implement and carry out security operations for the Bureau (with Tim Brown under Kevin).
It was suggested that Kevin and possibly Paul Exter be invited to the June meeting.
(May2003.Cyber.3) Scott
- will work on a Charter for the new DB TAC group.
(May2003.Cyber.4)
Tom - collect priorities for each of the ITAC'ers and start a compiled list
for others.
Reading the ITAC minutes, the question was asked ...what is Correspondent Tracking course. It is a course to learn to use the Correspondence Management System that has been deployed in ER. Here is an email that was sent to the field introducing the system.
Basically, here is how I understand it works...you create a record in the CMS system (accessible through Lotus) and attach a document (Word, Excel) as you would in email or quickplace. The document is then stored in a database and can only be accessed by one person at a time..to make edits. The system keeps track of who has made edits. The system also allows for electronic signatures, sorta like the TMS system does.
Tech Wizard developed a similar system for the 7th floor, then ER and is now working with the other Regions.

Susan: NWIS Priorities have not been established; as that's something that is done between the ESC and the User Groups and funds). Susan will give a brief summary on priorities, next NWIS release, and FY04 focus.
Katherine to Susan: Can we just have an NWIS update and Susan will give a brief summary of were we are for NWIS and that will address Bill Horak's top issues?
(May2003.Cyber.5) Katherine
- will talk to Wendy Budd on the minutes from GIO, etc.
