Effective February 14, 2000, Susan Trapanese will begin a 120-day detail as Acting Chief of the National Internet Data Systems Unit(NWISWeb) in the NWIS Program Office and Chuck O'Hara will begin a 120-day detail to serve as the Acting System Support Unit Chief in the DIS Program Office while Susan is on detail to NWIS.

Susan's detail will enable Colleen Babcock, current Acting NWISWeb Chief, to fully resume her duties as the NWIS Development Chief. Susan brings substantial systems and software expertise to the current NWISWeb implementation efforts.

Chuck will serve the 120-day detail from his base office of Jackson, Mississippi. Currently, Chuck is the Chair of the NT TAC. Due to the multitude and varying duties of the SSU Chief, the Chair of the NT TAC will be assumed by the DIS Program Office NT lead position. That position has just closed and will be selected soon. Chuck will continue to assist with NT TAC Chair activities during the transition.

We feel that both, Susan and Chuck, have the skills, knowledge, energy and desire to excel during their detail assignments.
