URGENT-End of Year Opportunity for S-PLUS Site License |
The purpose of this memorandum is to announce a special, limited time S-Plus site license opportunity for Water Resources Division (WRD) offices. The Distributed Information System Program Office (DIS) strongly encourages WRD Offices to take advantage of this offer. S-Plus is the DIS-supported charting and statistical software developed and marketed by MathSoft Corporation.
It is WRD's intention to purchase an enterprise-wide license for S-Plus. Taking advantage of this offer in FY99 is a significant savings over the proposed FY2000 $275,000 cost for an enterprise-wide license. The WRD office site licenses purchased through this offer will serve in place of the enterprise-wide license.
This special offer will need to be purchased by the WRD sites listed at the end of this message. Through September 30, 1999, MathSoft is offering the following for a total payment of $2,500 per WRD site.
District X currently owns a 4 user server license for S-Plus in the District office and a few single user licenses for S-Plus in its sub-District Office. For a total payment of $2,500 by September 30, 1999, District X will be able to install the S-Plus software as well as the ArcView and SpatialStats software for use by all District X employees, including sub-District and field office employees. In addition, all District X employees will have access to the new S-Plus web-based training module. If S-Plus is eventually used as part of AIS, NWIS, and other WRD applications, District X will already own unlimited runtime licenses of S-Plus for use in those applications.
Each WRD Site listed at the end of this message can order with a credit card by calling Steve Larsen of MathSoft at (800) 569-0123 ext. 325.
Questions about the S-Plus site license offer should be addressed to Tom Wood of the DIS Program Office (tcwood, 703-648-5617).
