Agenda Items:
Add external links to STED page- done
Alan to send out follow up email on Streaming memo- done 9/25
Memo for STED website promotion to Jerad to send out to WMA.- sent to Jerad 10/18. Made a few adjustments to the memo and send 10/24, Hopefully, Jerad will still send it out this week.
Alan writes: Put memo on STED website and have Jerad reference the link in an all Water Mission Area email.
Alan writes: Same thing with Jerad’s email regarding training approvals!
Try to do one of next meetings using Adobe Connect- OED to let us know if this is possible- more info possibly by next call. Email to Alan and Russell on 8/19 to discuss.
Membership and Rotation
Lynn Taylor to rotate off. I am working with Dane Ohe on a replacement.
NTC
RFP process- Should STED recommend RFP to WATER only this year for AI training (CARP)?? The RFP has not been approved by Headquarters yet. This is a good idea, if there are no other priorities for TEL development in Water. Think about other classes that need to be developed or re-developed. Monies must be spent within the fiscal year.
-Waiting on guidance on money and support. NTC has sheltered some money…. CARP may not be able to use money with fiscal year, so timing might be off for this WY.
Think about other TEL development?
Joe C to talk to Joe N.
Video Streaming Memo- Sent by Jared to Water Mission Area leads (technical office chiefs, NRP, etc). Sent May 9, 2013.
AI- Alan will compose a follow up email. Jerad sent email on 9/25.
CARP Training – STED’s role?
Update- TEL possibility. CARP is likely going to use TEL.
10/22/13
Not a lot to add, Jen.
-We've identified about 35 supertrainers, though we still have to get full buy-in from their WSCs.
-Gary Wilson and I are preparing a presentation for the next DBA lunch (early Nov) that will give the DBAs an idea of what their roles will be with AQUARIUS. (Note that since there really won't be any database administration in this role, we've started calling them LDMs (local data managers) rather than DBAs.)
-We're planning a meeting in January to really hit the curriculum development hard, though of course we'll be working with a moving target as long as development is still occurring.
-No work on TEL yet, except that three of us have evaluated the training videos that the contractor uses and found them somewhat useful in a general way. They aren't 508 compliant.
-We were given everything that Environment Canada uses for their AQUARIUS training and are in the process of evaluating it for our training purposes.
Thanks,
CARP- Very rough timeline (which will be refined and added to the Plan):
Planning: now
Developing materials: Oct 2013-Aug 2014
Pilot deployments/training: Sep-Nov 2014
Final refinements: Nov-Dec 2014
Deployment starts: Jan 2015
Deployment ends: June 2015

TEAM- Any other ideas as to what you see as a good way to use online training to reach users during the Roll out (and beyond) of the new Aquarius software??
WEBSITE-
Promotion-
Email to Director and IT groups has been sent 10/18.
When should we send email to the employees with the STED presentation???
Jen would like to see this done next week, so that employees can use STED for their IDPs this WY. Jen to add Data Chiefs to email and one sentence about supervisors..
Email to all techs and hydrologists to use the STED page for finding training.PRESENTATION- Already on Google Drive. NEEDS FINAL REVIEW
Web pages- Suggestion: Go through the website every few weeks and click on links to ensure quality. If you find any mistakes or outdated information, please send an email to Mike and Jen
Is there a way to track what links are being used? If links are not being used, should be remove them, etc.
Mike to explain/define the reports with live demo.
Summary: the sted web site appears to be used consistently through the year. April seems to be the highest used month. October seems to have fell short in hits because of the furlough.
