Agenda Items:

Booth at Portland conference - Who will be attending the conference? TJ or Alan will attend, Jim, and Jen. While Jim will probably to busy to do and booth time, he can find someone from osw to assist if needed. Mike suggested we look into the hidden fees for the booth.
AI – Jen to ask conference planning team about whether electric and data can be provided to the booth and if there is a cost, how much that will be. We could probably use MiFi for network, but we will need electric to run computers, etc.
AI – Alan, Jen and Nicole to have a side meeting to get some ideas for the booth started. Pull Mike in for discussion and lessons learned from his previous experience.

Tech Memo sent to Franceska for review – status
AI – Franceska send out an edited version to the STED before the meeting – DONE
AI – Nicole to post memo to sharepoint for review – DONE
AI – All – Make edits to memo on sharepoint by May 10th so it can be sent forward

Top requested/potentially threatened if travel funds are not available
Did we add additional classes?
Discuss list-

AI – Nicole to Ask Franceska about whether Guilelines for Operation & Computation of Records of Continuous Water-Quality Monitors would be a good candidate.
AI – Jim will bring up the rest of the classes at the next OSW meeting to discuss their potential for TEL.
  • Guidelines for the Operation & Computation of Records of Continuous Water-Quality Monitors
  • Surface-Water Records Computation
  • Statistical Methods for Environmental Data Analysis
  • Streamflow Record Computation using ADVM’s and Index-velocity Methods
  • Advanced ADCP Applications
  • Indirect Measurements of Peak Discharge

Has Alan already send this out? Alan has already asked SME’s about whether their course could be converted to TEL. We are going to ask again to see if that answer has changed. It was stated that SME’s do not have the time block to convert the classes. Alan said that TJ’s time could be made available to help someone

Suggestions for TEL or future blended classes from list above with Working Capital fund

Discussion and Action Items

Training:
AI:
Nicole – Work with Alan on an RFP process and a document describing a plan of suggested TEL classes that may be threatened in the near future with the 20% reduction in travel and find an audience to gain leverage

Web Page:
AI:
Set up schedule and assign members the monthly duty of checking web pages for errors. Find tools that can be used to scan pages for dead links (Nicole)

Tech Memo:
AI: Franceska to forward completed tech memo up the chain as appropriate for distribution

Interaction with Data Committees:
AI:
Work with CRACD to assure that as they start to develop cheat sheets and tip sheets that there is a cross reference to their pages from ours and vice versa (Jen).
AI: Determine equipment needs and identify network issues at office that may interfere with video streaming - Reach out to those involved in streaming and video conferencing options to test and plan for how to optimize these options to extend the training beyond the traditional classroom and still be effective.
AI: Tip Sheets? Field Manuals? Lecture Series?
