SAC Graphical User Interface (SAC GUI) -- A tool for peak flood 
discharge estimation.

The SAC GUI requires Java SE 6. It runs on Windows and Macintosh 
operating systems. The Mac OS version of the SAC Fortran executable requires GNU
Fortran (http://gcc.gnu.org/fortran/).

INSTALLATION

To install the SAC GUI, download InstallSAC.jar and double-click it to start the
installation process. The default installation location for the Windows operating
system is C:\Program Files\SAC. The default Mac OS location is /Applications/SAC. 
This location can be changed and the installer will prompt you if it detects a 
previous installation of SAC or the SAC GUI in the specified location.

RUNNING THE SAC GUI

To launch the SAC GUI, navigate to the installation directory and double click 
on the runnable JAR file SACGUI.jar. To start a new indirect discharge estimate, 
choose the New Indirect option from the File menu. The data required are surveyed
high-water marks and cross-sectional geometry in XYZ coordinates. A sample survey 
data file is included in the examples directory. For more information, see the

RUNNING SAC IN STANDALONE MODE

The SAC Fortan executable is installed in the bin directory. It can be run from
a command line in the same way as previous versions. See the SAC documentation in
the sac2/doc directory for information about preparing SAC input files manually.
