CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2012 to October 2018 (air pressure, air temperature, net radiation, precipitation, relative humidity, soil heat flux, soil moisture, soil temperature, wind direction, and wind speed).
INSTRUMENTATION - Weather station with electronic data logger and satellite telemetry. Recording intervals ranged from 1-minute to 1-hour for the period of record. Weather station included a tipping bucket rain gage, a combined thermistor/hygrometer, a barometer, a net radiometer, a wind vane, an anemometer, a soil thermocouple, a soil moisture probe and a soil heat flux plate. All above-ground sensors were mounted to an 8 ft tall tower, and all soil sensors were installed at a depth of 0.26 ft.
REMARKS - Net radiation data are corrected for wind speed when wind speed is greater than 5 m/s. Soil moisture data are corrected with a soil specific calibration and are also corrected for soil temperature. Soil moisture, soil temperature, and soil heat flux data indicate soil properties at the depth at which the soil sensors were buried (0.26 ft). Wind direction data are not published when wind speeds are less than 0.4 m/s because wind direction data are erroneous at those wind speeds. Below a threshold of 0.4 m/s, wind speed data are less accurate.
