LOCATION - Lat 47°50'12", long 117°50'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.13, T.27 N., R.39 E., Stevens County, WA, Hydrologic Unit 17010307, on left bank at Long Lake powerhouse, 1.4 mi upstream from Chamokane Creek, 12.0 mi north of Reardan, and at mile 33.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 6,020 mi². of which about 122 mi² in the vicinity of Hayden Lake is noncontributing to this station.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1933: Drainage area. WDR WA-01-1: Calendar year adjusted mean discharge, runoff in inches, and acre-feet for 1998, and adjusted mean discharge, cubic feet per square mile, runoff in inches, and acre-feet for 1999 corrected. WDR US-2010: 2009 (Corrected calendar year adjusted mean discharge, mean discharge, cubic feet per square mile, runoff in inches and arce-feet).

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,299.00 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by Avista Corporation). Oct. 1, 1978, to Sept. 30, 1981 and 2004, incorrectly published at datum 1,300 ft.
COOPERATION - Discharge records furnished by Avista Corporation.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Coeur d'Alene Lake, power plants along Spokane River, and Long Lake (station 12432500) for power plants of Avista Corporation. About 25,000 acres irrigated upstream from station, largely from wells in the Spokane Valley.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 49,700 ft³/s, Jan. 19, 1974, gage height, 78.40 ft; maximum recorded gage height, 78.66 ft, May 24, 1948; minimum daily discharge, 90 ft³/s, Oct. 23, 1994, Sept. 13, 2004, part of the day Sept. 13, 2012, and Aug. 9 - Sept. 25, 2013.
