11359120 Hat Creek Low Flow Release below Baum Lake, near Burney, CA
LOCATION - Lat 40°57'04", long 121°32'43" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.29, T.36 N., R.4 E., Shasta County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020003, at Hat No. 2 Diversion Dam on Hat Creek, 4.6 mi upstream from mouth, and 7.9 mi northeast of Burney.
DRAINAGE AREA - 356 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2007 to current year (operated as a low-flow station only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest style sharp crested weir gate. Elevation of gage is 2,980 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Pacific Gas and Electric Co., under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2661.
REMARKS - This station records fishwater release only. The minimum release requirement is 8.0 ft³/s at all times. Flow is computed to 57 ft³/s. Prior to water year 2011, flow was computed to 300 ft³/s. See schematic diagram of Pit River and McCloud River Basins available from the California Water Science Center.
