LOCATION - Lat 36°59'57", long 119°42'22" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.05, T.11 S., R.21 E., Fresno County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18040001, on left bank, 0.10 mi upstream of mouth of Cottonwood Creek, 0.70 mi northeast from junction of Road 206 and Millerton Road, and 0.90 mi northeast of Friant.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,638 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2010: 2010 (discharges).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2009 to current year. Records prior to October 2009 available in the files of U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
GAGE - Water-level recorder.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with San Joaquin River Restoration Project.
REMARKS - Flow is diverted from Millerton Lake (station 11250100), total usable capacity 503,200 acre-ft. Figures shown represent the net daily flows released from Orange Cove Powerplant to the Fish Hatchery, the Harvey S. Chase Powerplant, and direct discharge to the river from four 96-inch Hollow Jet valves, two 18-inch needle valves, and regulated spillway when spill occurs.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 60,300 ft³/s, Jan. 3, 1997, gage height, 22.97 ft, at gaging station 11251000, San Joaquin River below Friant Dam.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily discharge, 8,980 ft³/s, Jan. 9, 2011; minimum daily, 31 ft³/s, Dec. 22, 2010.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - Maximum discharge, 77,200 ft³/s, Dec. 11, 1937, gage height, 23.8 ft, site and datum then in use.
