The Specify Contours dialog box is used to set the contour values, line thicknesses and colors of the contours. It is displayed by clicking the Edit contours... button on the Contour Data pane of the Data Visualization dialog box.

The Contour value column of the table specifies the values for which contour lines will be drawn.

The Line thickness column specifies the width in pixels of those lines. Typically most lines are drawn with a thickness of two pixels and every fifth contour is drawn with a width of four pixels.

The Contour color column shows the color assigned to each contour. If the Automatic colors checkbox is not checked, the user can edit the colors. When the user selects a cell containing the color a button labeled Edit will appear. Clicking this button will display a dialog box in which the user can select a color. The user can also type a number representing the color in the cell. The numbers should be in hexadecimal notation. The first two digits represent the amount of blue in the color. The second two digits represent the amount of red in the color. The third two digit represent the amount of red in the color.

Number of rows specifies the number of rows in the table of contour values.

The Add row AddLayer, Insert row InsertLayer and Delete row DeleteLayer buttons add a row to the end of the table, insert a row above the selected row, or delete the selected row from the table.
