BlockAreaSide({{Col,}Row, Layer}) is like BlockAreaFront except that the value returned is the cross-sectional area of an element or cell as seen from the side of the grid (fig. 22). The function has three optional arguments: Column, Row, and Layer. If these arguments are provided, they specify the element or cell for which the area should be calculated. If only two of the arguments are provided, they will be treated as the row and layer. If they are not provided, the function uses the column, row, and layer of the element or cell for which the formula is being calculated.

For SUTRA and MODFLOW 6 DISV models, BlockAreaSide always returns 0. If any of the arguments has an invalid value, BlockAreaSide returns zero.
