BlockAreaFront({Column, {Row,} Layer}) returns the cross-sectional area of an element or cell as seen from the front of the grid (fig. 21). The function has three optional arguments: Column, Row, and Layer. If these arguments are provided, they specify the element or cell for which the area should be calculated. If only two of the arguments are provided, they will be treated as the column and layer. If they are not provided, the function uses the column, row, and layer of the element or cell for which the formula is being calculated.
For SUTRA and MODFLOW 6 DISV models, BlockAreaFront returns the area of the projection of the element or cell on the front view of the model. If BlockAreaFront is used in a formula for an object on the front view of the model, the angle used when projecting the element or cell is the angle of the cross section of the model used for that object.
If any of the arguments has an invalid value, BlockAreaFront returns zero.
