Each row represents data for one reach of the # ERF1_2 stream network. The data were used in a report documenting dissolved-solids # conditions in the Southwestern United States as part of the U.S. Geological Survey, # National Water-Quality Assessment Program (USGS SIR 2006-5315). # # The SPARROW model and its output files and variables are described in: # # Schwarz, G.E., Hoos, A.B., Alexander, R.B., and Smith, R.A., 2006, The SPARROW surface # water-quality model—Theory, applications, and user documentation: U.S. Geological # Survey Techniques and Methods Report, book 6, chap. B3, 248 p., available online # at http://pubs.usgs.gov/tm/2006/tm6b3/contents.htm# # # SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The base file for this data set was originated by Greg Schwarz, USGS. # The original national-scale data set was clipped to just those river reaches in the study area # of USGS SIR 2006-5315. The stream load data were originally nitrogen loads and were replaced # with annual loads of dissolved solids computed as part of USGS SIR 2006-5315. The area of # geologic units from the King and Beikman (1974) Bedrock Geology map were appended to the # set of watershed attributes. These areas were derived using a GIS cover for the contributing # area for each reach catchment, and the digital data for the King and Beikman (1974) map. # Dissolved-solids loads (imports) were also added to this coverage. They typically were computed # on the basis of annual stream discharge data and concentration data. # # REFERENCE: King, P.B., and Beikman, H.M., 1974, Geologic map of the United States: U.S. Geological #
