# METADATA Data Description:
#
# ABSTRACT:
#	This file contains results for weighted-least-squares regression (WLS) analyses of water-quality
#	trends and ancillary data trends as reported for streams in the Lower Mississippi, Arkansas-
#	White-Red, Texas-Gulf Basins presented in Rebich and Demcheck, 2007 (SIR 2007-5090). This
#	investigation was completed as part of the USGS National Water-Quality Assessment Program.
#	WLS regression analysis were completed using standard routines devloped for the S-Plus Statistical
#	Software suite (Insightful Corporation, 2005, S-PLUS version 7.0 for Windows Professional
#	Developer: Seattle, Wash., Insightful Corporation).
#
#	Trends in water-quality data are found in MRB5A_trend_results.txt. Both significant and
#	non-significant trends were used in the WLS analyses using weights calculated as the inverse
#	of the variance of the trend results. Trends in ancillary data are found in files
#	MRB5_ancil_data.txt and MRB5_pop_dens.txt. The file listed here is a text file and can be
#	read directly into spreadsheet software. WLS results were considered statistically
#	significant at a p-value < 0.05. Resutls are published in Rebich and Demcheck 2007
#	(SIR 2007-5090).

# METADATA detailed documentation of dataset elements:
#
#	Column headings are as follows:
#
#
#	PCODE: Parameter code of constituent for which loads were estimated.
# Values are as follows:
# 00600 - Total nitrogen
# ammonia - Combination of PCODES 00608 and 00610 which are
# filtered and unfiltered ammonia, respectively
# 00631 - Nitrite plus nitrate
# 00665 - Total phosphorus
# 00671 - orthophosphorus
# 81054 - Suspended sediment
#
#	Trend_type: Type of water quality trend results. Values listed are either
# TTC or FAC, which stand for total trend in concentration or
# flow-adjusted trend in concentration.
#
#	Ancil_dataset: Ancillary data set used in WLS regression. Values are
# Fertilizer-N - Nitrogen from fertilizer use as specified
# in MRB5_ancil_data.txt.
# Fertilizer-P - Phosphorus from fertilizer use as specified
# in MRB5_ancil_data.txt.
# Manure-N - Nitrogen from land application of manure as
# specified in MRB5_ancil_data.txt.
# Manure-P - Phosphorus from land application of manure as
# specified in MRB5_ancil_data.txt.
# N-AtmDep - Nitrogen from atmospheric deposition as
# specified in MRB5_ancil_data.txt.
# PopDens - Population density trends, which were used as
# a surrogate for point sources as specified
# in MRB5_pop_dens.txt
#
#	WLS_slope: Coeffient of WLS regression equation. Positive and negative values
# represent relationships between the water quality trend and
# ancillary data trend that are directly or inversely proportional,
# respectively.
#
#	WLS_P_value: Probablility value of WLS regression analysis. P-values less than
# 0.05 were considered statistically significant.
#
#	WLS_R2: Coefficient of determination (R2) of WLS regression analysis. R2
# gives an estimate of goodness of fit of the regression and indicates
# how much of the variance in the data are explained.
