Land Use Study Characteristics (1/26/96)

These are (preliminary) summary tables of characteristics of the 1991 NAWQA land use study polygons. Most of the summaries were prepared for the National Synthesis conference call on 1/26/96.

The tables contain summaries of:

• Total N (Bill Battaglin - fertilizer data; Rich Alexander - manure data; NADP data)
• Population density classes (Kerie Hitt - 1990 Census of population + 1970s land use)
• Soil hydric groups (STATSGO)
• Major crop groups (Gail Thelin - Census of AG)
• Aquifers (Ground Water Atlas)
• Physiographic divisions (Fenneman)
• Ecoregions (Omernick)

The tables are organized by land use polygon within each study unit. The name of the table is the same as the name of the corresponding land use polygon. The files are ascii except for the TAR file for all study units. No tables were prepared for CNBR. WILL was added 2/13/96. CONN was added on 5/30/96.

The urban land use studies are marked with an *.

Revised files are indicated in the list below, and details about the nature of the revisions are listed in the log.
