Land Use Study Characteristics (2/02/96)

These are (preliminary) lists of characteristics of the 1991 NAWQA land use study polygons. The summaries were prepared originally for the National Synthesis conference call on 2/02/96. Missing study units are being added as they become available.

The lists show the highest category of each of the following within each LUS:

Total N (Bill Battaglin - fertilizer data; Rich Alexander - manure data; NADP data)
Population density classes (Kerie Hitt - 1990 Census of population + 1970s land use)
Soil hydric groups (STATSGO)
Major crop groups (Gail Thelin - Census of AG)
Aquifers (Ground Water Atlas)
Physiographic divisions (Fenneman)
Ecoregions (Omernick)

If the second highest category was within 25 percent of the highest category, the second highest category is included as well.

These are ascii files. Nothing has been prepared for CNBR. WILL was added on 2/13/96. CONN was added on 5/30/96.
