The guidance is accessed from the NAWQA Urban Studies page: http://wwwsd.cr.usgs.gov/usgs/vocns/urban/ Thank you. These urban data sets, together with the land-use and land-cover field sheet information, will be very important as we interpret our NAWQA urban water-quality data. This information is critical if we want to move beyond occurrence summaries and look at sources and fate! Special thanks are due to Paul Hanson of UMIS who piloted the guidance and offered helpful improvements. ========================================================================== Attachment: Urban Studies in 94 Study Units Tue Mar 31 11:28:30 MST 1998 Urban studies in FY94 study units Ground-water land use studies SUCODE DESC ------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ eiwalusur1 20 small cities, alluvial, (res/com, a few industrial) lerilusrc1 Detroit, MI area, coarse-grained unconsolidated aquifer linjlusrc1 nr Glassboro, NJ, Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifer, 30 wells linjlusur1 nr Glassboro, NJ, old urban, Kirkwood-Cohansey aqf, 14 wells miselusrc1 Memphis, TN, Fluvial deposits, + 8 in underlying aquifer pugtlusrc1 Tacoma/Olympia, WA, Fraser unconsolidated aquifer sacrlusrc1 Sacramento, CA santlusrc1 Columbia, SC metro area, Sand Hills area fluvial deposits sctxlusrc1 San Antonio, TX, recharge zone of the Edwards aquifer sofllusrc1 Fort Lauderdale, FL, suburbs, Biscayne aquifer ucollusur1a Vail, CO ucollusur1b Gunnison, CO ucollusur1c Silverthorne, CO ucollusur1d Crested Butte, CO; urban and proposed urban ucollusur1e Fraser/Winter Park, CO; urban and proposed urban umislusrc1 Minneapolis, MN, Surficial sand and gravel aquifers Surface-water indicator sites SUCODE SWSTAID DESC -------- -------- ------------------------------------------------------- almniur1 03049646 Pittsburgh, PA leriiur1 04161820 Detroit, MI linjiur1 01403900 Newark, unglaciated Piedmont linjiur2 01410784 Glassboro, NJ, Urban Comp Study miseiur1 07031692 Memphis, TN, Fletcher Ck. at Sycamore View Road pugtiur1 12128000 Seattle 90% medium density res, 10% comm.
