Data Files to Prepare for Archive

Tabular Data

Ancillary data

1. Point source time series and spatial data for MRB4 (all other ancillary data for trend sites was obtained from NAWQA national synthesis) - Excel spreadsheet and GIS file

2. Time series data for point sources, fertilizer, manure, atmospheric deposition, management practices, irrigated acreage, population density for each of the full basins and 10% nearest subsets - Excel spreadsheet

3. Sediment ancillary data (soil erodibility factor K; soil runoff factor R; percent-cultivated area; percent in the Great Plains physiographic province; percent in the HLRs categorized as Plains; stream density; and percent unregulated area) - Excel spreadsheet

Water quality and flow data (all Excel spreadsheets)

1. Discrete nutrient and sediment time series data for all trend sites from 1993-2003

2. Discrete nutrient and sediment time series data for a subset of trend sites from 1985-2003 3. Discrete sediment data for variable periods between 1997 and 2003 for sediment load sites

3. Continuous mean daily streamflow data for all sites from 1993-2003

4. Continuous mean daily streamflow data for a subset of sites from 1985-2003

5. Synthetic "median daily streamflow" over a 2-3 year period for sediment load sites

Model output (all Excel spreadsheets, though we could also use some more complicated version of the actual model output. But that could be difficult, since it would require specific software to access and it wouldn't necessarily be well organized)

1. LOADEST output summary for flow-adjusted trends from 1993-2003

2. Fluxmaster output summary for non-flow-adjusted trends from 1993-2003

3. Reference concentrations for the period from 1993 to 2003

4. QWTREND output summary for flow-adjusted trends from 1985-2003

5. Reference concentrations for the period from 1985-2003

6. LOADEST output summary for sediment loads

GIS Spatial Data

1. Full basin boundaries

a. Nutrient and sediment trend sites (no metadata available except for NAWQA sites) - GIS files
b. Sediment load sites (I believe there will be published metadata for these) - GIS files

2. 10% nearest subset boundaries

a. Nutrient and sediment trend sites (no metadata available; methods and AML to be published in the report) - GIS files

Data Archival Action List

Tabular Data

1. Convert excel spreadsheets to ascii files.

2. Prepare documentation (metadata) that describes field names, data types, data sources, processing steps, and other pertinent information.

GIS Spatial Data

1. Check GIS spatial data layers for errors.

2. Prepare FGDC metadata for GIS spatial data layers.

3. Export GIS coverages to ArcInfo Exchange (.e00), also known as ArcInfo export files.

All Data

1. Prepare a general documentation README file that lists and briefly describes all data sets that are part of the report archive.
