				MEMORANDUM

                                                October 23, 1997

To:	Study-Unit Chiefs (1991) and Data Base Managers (1991)
	National Water-Quality Assessment Program

From:	NAWQA Data and Software Integration Group (NADASIG)

Subject: Request for FY91 study unit data aggregation for quality
control (QC) and daily temperature data; due 12-19-97.

Guidance documents for data aggregation of FY91 study units' quality
control (QC) and daily temperature (including hobotemp) data are now
available. These documents provide procedures, formats and submittal
instructions for study units to follow and may be retrieved from the
NADASIG web at:

http://csdokokl.cr.usgs.gov/nawqa/sig/doc.html

or you may access each guidance at:

http://webserver.cr.usgs.gov/usgs/qc_guidance.html
http://www2dnmalb.cr.usgs.gov/local/nawqa/tempguidance.html

The QC data aggregation includes all routine QC data for all
surface-water, biological and ground-water sites (BFS, IFS, Synoptics,
BS&T, Special Studies, LUS, SUS, and FP) that were collected during the
high-intensity phase. Additionally, all daily water temperature data
collected during the same time period at any sites within the NAWQA study
units are being requested.

A completion date for these data aggregations has been set for December
19, 1997. If you predict that you will not be able to submit your data to
the specified parties within this timeline contact your ARH/N and the
NAWQA National Synthesis Coordinator, Bill Wilber (wgwilber).
