Missing values in the datasets have been "filled in" (Eischeid and others, 2000) to generate serially complete daily time series for coop stations located throughout the conterminous United States. Attributes of the point coverage include (1) the file name containing the meteorological data for each coop site, and (2) the period of record for daily minimum temperature, daily maximum temperature, and daily total precipitation. The dataset (daily precipitation and temperature time series at 11,240 coop stations) was compiled by Jon Eischeid, who is at the NOAA-CIRES Climate Diagnostics Center in Boulder, Colorado.
