This is a point dataset of well sites included in two reports that describe the quality of water from domestic wells sampled by the NAWQA Program from 1991-2004. These reports are USGS Scientific Investigations Report 2008-5227 and USGS Circular 1332.

The point dataset documents the locations of wells used in the subject reports. It is for internal USGS use and is as accurate as the locations stored in the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) database. It should be suitable for all graphics and analytical use.

GENERAL COMMENTS: 
This data set was generated from the NAWQA GIS point coverage of all NAWQA sites, NAWQAPT, version 20050814.123812, obtained August 15, 2005 (C.V. Price, U.S. Geological Survey, written commun., 2005).  Well sites used in the domestic well reports were identified in the NAWQAPT dataset, and all other points were deleted. Attribute information other than station identifier also was deleted. An attribute indicating the type of NAWQA study, either major aquifer study or agricultural land-use study, was added.
