Recharge in the Death Valley regional ground-water flow system (DVRFS) was estimated from net infiltration simulated by Hevesi and others (2003) using a deterministic mass-balance method. Hevesi and others (2003) estimated potential recharge for the DVRFS, an approximately 100,000 square-kilometer region of southern Nevada and California, using the net-infiltration model, INFILv3. Net infiltration, estimated on a cell-by-cell basis,...

Estimates of area and aerial extent of land-use categories are an essential component for computing the water budget of the High Plains aquifer. These raster land-use land class data represent yearly simulated future land use for the High Plains from 2009 to 2050 These data were developed using the FOREcasting SCEnarios (FORE-SCE) of future land cover model (Sohl and others, 2007; Sohl and Sayler 2008) for two (A2 and B2) of the...

This digital dataset defines the depth of the Corcoran Clay Member of the Tulare Formation. The complex hydrologic system of the Central Valley is simulated using the USGS numerical modeling code MODFLOW-FMP (Schmid and others, 2006b). This simulation is referred to here as the Central Valley Hydrologic Model (CVHM) (Faunt, 2009). Utilizing MODFLOW-FMP, the CVHM simulates groundwater and surface-water flow, irrigated agriculture,...

Estimates of land use categories are an essential component for computing the water budget of the High Plains aquifer. These raster land-use data represent yearly estimated land use for the High Plains from 1949 to 2008. These data were developed using the FOREcasting SCEnarios of future land cover (FORE-SCE) model (Sohl and others, 2007) and then processed using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The GIS software used to process...

This data set consists of digital polygons of a constant hydraulic conductivity value for the alluvial and terrace deposits along the North Canadian River from Oklahoma City to Eufaula Lake in east-central Oklahoma. Ground water in 710 square miles of Quaternary-age alluvial and terrace deposits along the North Canadian River is an important source of water for irrigation, industrial, municipal, stock, and domestic supplies. The...
A numerical groundwater flow model using MODFLOW-2005 was developed to examine predevelopment groundwater flow in eastern Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The model was calibrated to conditions before the 1960s, the period before modern pumping began. The model was used to evaluate the regional water budget and 4 potential recharge scenarios. This USGS data release contains all of the input and output files for the simulations described in the associated model documentation report (https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20185158). This data release also includes input and output data files for sensitivity and scenarios simulations, and MODFLOW-2015 source code.

This coverage contains estimates of nitrogen-fertilizer sales for the conterminous United States in 1989 as reported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (1990) and by Jerald Fletcher (West Virginia University, written commun., 1992). Nitrogen-fertilizer sales estimates in this coverage are reported for each county polygon in tons of actual nutrient sold (inorganic nitrogen, phosphate, and potash) as distinct from total tons...

To help address these concerns, ground- and surface-water conditions in the area before and during the population growth that started...
