PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (NJ) Nor'easter Prep

Summary: Preparing for a strong Nor'easter forecasted to effect New Jersey coast.

A strong Nor'easter is forecasted to retrograde towards the New Jersy coast tonight into Saturday morning. This algins with astronomical high tide. The current forecasted path is similar to Hurricane Sandy. NJWSC has pretty robust continuous tidal elevation and tidal CSG networks. Based on Hurricane Sandy's track, we've learned where gaps exist.

Four 2-person crews are in the field deploying a combination of RDG's/Hobo's/camera's at selected sites mostly focusing on sites around Raritan Bay and northern Atlantic Ocean facing coastline.

Minor inland (runoff) flooding is expected. We are not planning any response at this time, but will be keeping an eye on inland flooding as well as gage issues along the coast.

An event has been set up in STN/FEV. We will be populating this event as we go.
