PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (TX) River flooding

Date: Wed, 02 Sep 2026 16:14:46 EDT

Summary: Flooding in Southeast Texas due to Edouard.

With the arrival of Edouard, the Southeast Texas region is experiencing flooding, with forecasted rainfall primarily along the I‑45 corridor and areas to the east.

We currently have three crews in the field measuring sites affected by flooding. Forecasts indicate one site reaching major flood stage, two sites in moderate flood stage, two in minor flood stage, and two in action stage.

We will have additional crews out tomorrow continuing flood measurements, though rainfall amounts across the area are expected to decrease.

No record peaks are anticipated, and there are no reported damages to gages at this time.

Unless there are significant changes tonight, this will be the last project alert.
