Summary: There is major category flooding ongoing on the East Fork of the White River from Muncie to Anderson.
Intense, localized rainfall has fallen over narrow portions of eastern Indiana over the past 24 hours. Portions of the upper East Fork White River are in major category flood with one location forecasted to potentially exceed the period of record event.
The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Water Science Center has 3 crews (6 people) out measuring at these locations. All gages are currently operating though one has experienced some issues with the stage sensor that have now been corrected. OKI has been in very close communication with the National Weather Service throughout the day on these issues as well as their needs. Response will likely continue for the next 2 days at least.
