Summary: A historic and record-shattering rainstorm struck eastern New York State on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with heavy rain continuing into Wednesday, July 29. The slow-moving system dumped 5–12 inches of rain across the Hudson Valley and Capital Region, with some areas exceeding state records.
