PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (TX) Heavy Rainfall & Continued Flooding in Texas

Summary: Continued rainfall and flooding across portions of Texas.

The Oklahoma–Texas Water Science Center is closely monitoring ongoing rainfall and river conditions across the region. We have several crews deployed to the field to make discharge measurements, repair gages, and collect high-water marks. Heavy rainfall continues across large portions of Texas, leading to rapidly rising streams and an increasing risk of both flash flooding and river flooding. Saturated soils and repeated rounds of storms are causing quick runoff, especially in fast‑responding basins. Some sites may be inaccessible due to water covering the roadways, particularly throughout the Hill Country.
