PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (OH) Minor to moderate flooding occuring in Ohio.

Date: Wed, 01 Apr 2026 10:05:28 EDT

Summary: Minor to moderate flooding occurring in north central Ohio.

Widespread 2-to-3-inch rain totals fell in northern Ohio and Indiana last night. The heaviest rains fell in a band between US Highway 30 to a Cleveland-Findlay-Fort Wayne Indiana line. The watersheds hardest hit are the Sandusky and Maumee River basins.

No gages are experiencing peaks of records, and all gages are operating properly.

The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana WSC has six crews currently measuring high water. One crew from the New Philadelphia field office is in the Cleveland Ohio area measuring the Cuyahoga River while the other New Philadelphia crew is making high flow measurements in the Mahoning River basin. Three crews from the Columbus office are measuring high flows in the Sandusky River basin and Maumee River basin. Two of these crews were fortuitously on a regularly scheduled field trip. The final crew from Indiana is measuring flashy sites around the Fort Wayne Indiana area.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, the Pittsburgh Corps of Engineers and the Ohio water Development Authority have been notified of our response. All pertinent high flow measurements will be entered in Slack.
