Summary: Minor flooding is impacting portions of southern Ohio.
Minor flooding is occurring in mostly southern Ohio. Antecedent ground moisture conditions were dry as most of the area was in D0 drought, so when 3 to 4 inches of rain fell, the ground soaked up some of this rain and the flooding isn't as bad as it could have been. The river basins that are in minor flood stage are the Little Miami and Scioto River basins.
USGS OKI has 5 crews out today in southern Ohio measuring sites in the Paint, Little Miami, Scioto and Muskingum River basins, mainly to catch measurements at medium to medium-high stage rating gaps.
Measurements will be put in NWS Chat/Slack and cooperators have been notified of our actions. Since the rain ended yesterday and rainfall has been sporadic today, we do not anticipate sending out crews over the weekend.
