Summary: USGS field crews measure elevated stream flows sustained by ongoing precipitation at USGS streamgages near the western end of the Santa Ynez Mountains.
The western extent of the Santa Ynez Mountains received about 3 inches of precipitation over the last 24 hours, sustaining elevated water levels and stream flows at USGS streamgages in the area.
Three USGS staff members are in the field today measuring mid-range flows for rating calibration and refinement in the Santa Maria and Santa Ynez River basins, as well as at select creeks in the area. Streamgages in the area appear to be functioning correctly at this time, and no peaks of record are expected at USGS streamgages during this event.
