Summary: Heavy rain in the Milwaukee area has resulted in flooding at several river locations in Milwaukee WI.

7-10 inches of rain fell overnight in the Milwaukee area resulting in flooding at several locations. Preliminary recurrence intervals are mostly in the 10 to 50 year range. 4 crews are out collecting discharge measurements at gages on the Fox River, Milwaukee River, Menomonee River, Root River, Underwood Creek, Little Menomonee River, Lincoln Creek and Kinnickinnic River. 4 crews are out collecting discharge measurements. 2 sites quit operating due to inundation. The Root River at Franklin (04087220) looks to be a period or record peak flow with an approximate 100 yr recurrence interval. Some additional rain could fall tonight.
