PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (NC) Tropical Storm Chantal

Summary: North Carolina crews continue to flag and survey high water marks, repair downed gages, and make measurements following Tropical Storm Chantal

USGS stations recorded new peaks for period of record including:

Eno River at Hillsborough, NC, 02085000
Eno River Near Durham, NC - 02085070
Hyco Creek Near Leasburg, NC - 02077200 and several others.

Field crews from the Raleigh data section and studies section are working to restore downed stations and flag high water marks in the Cape Fear, Neuse, and Roanoke basins.

All field crews are headed back to the office as of 16:00 EDT.
