PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (OK TX) Reservoir Releases in Oklahoma and Texas

Summary: Flood Control Reservoirs are in the process of releasing flood waters.

Currently it is only raining in far Southeast Texas, along the Texas Louisiana border. The majority of the flooding is occurring east of an line from Wichita Falls, Texas to Houston, Texas.

The process of moving water from flood control reservoirs downstream is ongoing. The Oklahoma Texas Water Science Center is responding to these releases, conducting necessary measurements at key locations. This effort will continue as floodwaters are passed downstream. Crews were in the field yesterday and we have additional teams in the field today, with plans for a continued response as needed. The process of moving the flood waters downstream will likely take several weeks.
