PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (OK TX) Oklahoma Texas Flooding

Date: Wed, 07 May 2025 11:44:38 EDT

Summary: Response to flooding has continued to slow down.

Rain has mostly exited the Oklahoma and Texas area, with precipitation now mainly affecting the southeastern parts of Texas, from the Houston area to the Louisiana border. No large-scale rain events are currently forecast. This should start the process of transferring water from Oklahoma and East Texas flood control reservoirs, most of which are currently at full capacity. As water is passed downstream, we anticipate additional measurements to support these efforts.

Current Status: (18) Action, (23) Minor, (3) Moderate, and (0) Major. (Source: NWDi)

Over the past 10 days, the Oklahoma Texas Water Science Center has made nearly 90 measurements in response to flooding or rating development.

We still have a few crews out in the field and will continue to have crews in the field, with a response to flooding as needed. This will be the last project alert for this event.
