PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (OK TX) Oklahoma Texas Water Science Center Flooding

Summary: Recent heavy rainfall over the past few days has led to significant flooding in Oklahoma and parts of North Central Texas.

Rainfall totals over a two-day period have ranged from 4 to 8 inches across Southwest Oklahoma to the Northeast (Tulsa area). In North Central Texas, rainfall amounts have been approximately 3 to 4 inches.

Several monitoring sites in both Oklahoma and Texas are currently above action stage, with forecasts indicating that many are expected to reach moderate to major flood stage. The majority of these sites are located in Oklahoma, with a few situated along the Texas-Oklahoma border.

All streamgages are currently operational. The offices actively responding to the flooding situation include Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Lubbock, and San Angelo. A total of seven crews are in the field, diligently making measurements.
