PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (AR TN) USGS teams are responding to moderate to major flooding in both Arkansas and Tennessee as of Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Summary: Lower Mississippi-Gulf staff are in the field on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in response to a recent storm event that has caused moderate to major flooding in Arkansas and Tennessee.

Arkansas:
• Down Gages
1. Little River near Peach Orchard, AR – 07064040 (gage may have been
flooded)
2. Lake Maumelle at State Hwy 10 near Wye, AR – 072632966 (site
destroyed – repairing week of April 14th)

• Surface water measurements – Streamflow at major flooding
1. White River near Augusta, AR – 07074850 – Large staff effort
required to measure overbank flow.

• Rapid Deployment Gage (RDG)
1. Current River Near Reyno, AR. – 07068800 – Online and reporting
data.

Tennessee:
• Down Gages
1. South Fork Forked Deer River Near Owl City, TN – 07027720 (Being
repaired today)
2. Goose Creek Near Hartsville, TN – 03425290 (Being repaired today)

• Surface water measurements – Streamflow at moderate flooding.

1. Trace Creek at U S Highway 70, at Waverly, TN – 03605400 - Online
and reporting data.

Many of the streams have reached their peak and are now receding. We are winding down our intense flood response efforts this week.
