Summary: Low pressure system moved ashore in Southern California this morning bringing moderate to heavy intensity precipitation of short duration.
Heavy rainfall blasted into So Cal this morning making a mess of the morning commute. Intense rainfall and winds associated with the passing cold core of a cyclonic storm created moderate runoff from the urban communities. This storm was focused on California south of the Transverse Range thus affecting only the LA Basin, Inland Empire and south to the Mexican Border. The CNRFC has two gages in this area that are forecast to elevate into Monitoring stage around midnight tonight.
Crews are mobilized from our Redlands and Poway FOs today making measurements for rating development. There has been no damage to any of our gages at this time.
Another storm is forecast to move through northern and central California tomorrow, impacting So Cal Friday evening. Will update this page at that time.
