PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (KY) Day 4 of the USGS response to widespread flooding across Kentucky

Date: Mon, 17 Feb 2025 14:44:09 EST

Summary: Major category flooding continues across the state of Kentucky.

There are numerous gages/flood forecast points at major category flood stage across the state of Kentucky. The eastern half of the state has more of these at the moment but there are also some along the Green River in the west as well.

The USGS has 7 crews (15 people) out making high flow measurements at these locations along with other critical sites associated with emergency management in the impacted communities. Our response will continue well into the week as some locations further downstream have yet to get the flood crest. All gages are currently operational and providing near real-time data via the web. Coordination continues with partner agencies on the response.
