Summary: Flooding across the entire state of Kentucky continues with major category flooding now occurring on the upper Kentucky River.
With a majority of the rain now past the area, numerous rivers across the state are in moderate to major flood category. The USGS has 7 crews (14 people) responding and making special measurements of discharge. One gage went down this morning but should be repaired later today.
Several ratings were extended to accommodate high flow conditions and special measurements in the Hopkinsville area were made to help refine an uncertain forecast for the National Weather Service yesterday. The flood crest is expected to move down the Kentucky and Green Rivers over the next two to three days so we plan to have crews continue to measure throughout the event.
