Summary: Minor to moderate flooding ongoing across the western half of Kentucky with major category flooding forecast at several locations.
USGS crews are responding to ongoing flooding across a large portion of the state today. 5 crews (12 people total) are making flood measurements at smaller creeks and rivers that are at or near peak stage today.
Up to 7 inches of rain have fallen in the past 24 hours in a concentrated area near the southwest border with Tennessee. That heavy band of rain will continue to impact areas around Hopkinsville and Bowling Green for the next 24 hours. Major category flooding is currently forecasted for portions of the Little River, Green River, Kentucky River, and Cumberland River throughout the weekend and into early next week.
All gages are currently functioning and communication with partners at the National Weather Service and Army Corps is ongoing.
