Summary: Pacific storms brought strong winds, moderate rain with a risk for flooding to northern and central California, and heavy mountain snow in the Sierras.
Precipitation amounts yesterday through out the northern part of California exceeded forecast amounts. This has created elevated runoff in the Sacramento and Russian River basins where minor flooding is being experienced today. Ten crews are deployed from the Sacramento, Redding/Eureka, and Ukiah Field Offices today to make routine measurements needed to qualify ratings and make simple repairs. Rain did not extend to the lower part of the state and elevated runoff is confined to the north.
