PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (IL MO) CMWSC Responding to Flooding in Central and Eastern Missouri and Western Illinois

Summary: Heavy storms have resulted in major flooding in south central and eastern parts of Missouri and western parts of Illinois.

14 streamgages were at flooding level in Missouri as of this morning. Crews from CMWSC have been responding to high water since Monday and continue to respond.

On Monday, crews from the Rolla office measured the following sites:
07061270 East Fork Black River near Lesterville
07017200 Big River at Irondale, MO

Yesterday they measured:
06928300 Roubidoux Creek above Fort Leonard Wood
07010350 Meramec River at Cook Station, MO
07014000 Huzzah Creek near Steelville, MO
07064533 Current River above Akers Ferry.
07064440 Current River at Montauk State Park

07064440, 06928300 and 07064533 incurred inundation or damage and are being or have been remediated or repaired.

Today they plan to measure at:
Meramec at Steelville
Meramec near Sullivan
Big Piney below Fort Leonard Wood
Current River at Van Buren
Big River at Byrnesville

They expect to measure the following sites tomorrow:
Gasconade River near Rich Fountain
Current River at Doniphan


A crew from Olivette responded to High Water in the St. Louis Metro area yesterday. They measured at the following sites:
