PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (FL) Flood Response continues after Hurricane Milton

Summary: CFWSC Tampa crews continues to respond to flooding in the Tampa Bay region following Hurricane Milton.

Riverine flooding continues to be a major concern in the Tampa Bay area following Hurricane Milton. Cypress Creek and Hillsborough River were the latest systems to peak with two slower responding rivers, Peace and Withlacoochee Rivers, expected to peak next week.

Five teams from the CFWSC Tampa office made eight discharge measurements and completed two gage repairs. Of the 8 measurements, two were period of record measurements at flood forecast sites, Cypress Creek at SR 54 (02303420) and Hillsborough River at Morris Bridge (02303330).

Flood measurements and repairs will continue on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
