PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (FL) CFWSC Tampa Office continues repairs and flood measurements.

Summary: Gage repairs and flood measurements continue throughout the CFWSC Tampa coverage area as river flooding continues to cause major issues.

The west coast of Florida continues to recover from Hurricane Milton with river flooding still causing major issues. Cypress Creek, Alafia, Hillsborough, and Anclote Rivers have peaked or are expected to this weekend.  The Peace and Withlacoochee Rivers are slower responding rivers and expected to peak next week. The Tampa office had six teams out today for repairs and making flood measurements, along with a team from the Orlando office. Thirteen discharge measurements were made with 7 being the highest measurement on record. Six of those sites recorded period of record water levels. Ten sites were also repaired with one site, Rocky Creek (02307000), found destroyed.

Five teams will be out tomorrow to continue with repairs and flood measurements.
