Summary: Two field teams from the Knoxville office will continue their efforts with gage repairs and peak verifications.
One team will focus on retrofitting a radar gage at Nolichucky River Below Nolichucky Dam, TN (03466500) to bring data back online. Stilling well needs repairing and cannot be used. Radar gage will use current gage setup to transmit data. Then crew will head toward Doe River at Elizabethton, TN (03485500), to repair intermitted transmission issues with streamgage.
The second team is working to verifying peaks at Pigeon River at Newport, TN (03461500), French Broad River near Newport, TN (03455000), and Big Limestone Creek near Limestone, TN (03466208). Crest stage gages (CSGs) were either overtopped or destroyed. Survey work is required at each site to verify peaks.
A team from Nashville is scheduled to help later this week with gage repairs and flagging of high-water marks (HWMs) to support indirect measurements at streamgages.
Yesterday (9-30), a team confirm the streamgage at Nolichucky River at Embreeville, TN (03465500) was completely destroyed. No timeline yet for repair.
