Summary: Flooding continues across portions of the Carolinas and Georgia in the wake of Debby with high flow measurements ongoing.
The South Atlantic Water Science Center (SAWSC) deployed a total of 10 teams today across North Carolina, South Carolina & Georgia to continue conducting high flow measurements and 1 gage repair associated with the heavy rainfall from Hurricane Debby.
Over 13 measurements have been made today with a few more planned for tomorrow. Two of these measurements were peak of record measurements, with the measurement at Station 02175000 Edisto River near Givhans, SC being the highest since 1940.
Over the last 6 days, SAWSC has conducted 196 discharge measurements with over 118 streamgages reaching flood stage. Larger watersheds continue to respond to the increased rainfall in the basin so additional flood measurements are expected to continue into early next week.
