PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (FL) TS Debby Flood Impacts in the Tampa Bay Region

Summary: Flood conditions continue in the Tampa Bay Region as TS Debby leaves Florida.

The Tampa Bay Region and south are still experiencing flooding as conditions begin to settle following TS Debby. Water levels in Pinellas County and sites around the Tampa Bay Region peaked yesterday and have begun to recede. The Anclote, Myakka, Peace, Withlacoochee Rivers are still rising and expected to crest this week.

The Tampa office had 9 teams out yesterday that visited 18 sites and made 22 measurements. Period of record measurements were made at 02299861, 02302500, and 02300042, with the rest falling within the top 10. Measurements at five of the sites were crucial for rating development.
The water level at a handful of sites exceeded the discharge rating and required rating extensions.

Today, 8 teams have been deployed to continue with highwater measurements, as well as repairs. Two sites have stopped transmitting due to the flood conditions and there are a few equipment issues that are expected to be repaired today and tomorrow. Currently, none of the sites run out of the Tampa office have been destroyed.
